A play on words on the famous rover Curiosity, APathy was designed to be a miniature explorer with some of the functionality of the real deal

Function Block Diagrams

APathy incorporates a solar tracker that contains a solar cell actuated by both a stepper and servo motor and will determine optimal charging conditions for a rechargeable battery. A sensor panel consisting of a GPS, IMU, and temperature and humidity sensors will relay information back to the user for location tracking, emergency notifications, and general environment data, which will be displayed on a Node-red interface. The electronics will be mounted on a pre-built RC car to allow the user to control rover movement.

PCB Design

APathy showcased a densely populated PCB to manage the plethora of measurement ICs, supporting power nets and controlling MPU unit.
